Bali - BNA
The Parliamentary Delegation participating at the World Trade Organization (WTO) parliamentary conference, led by MP Al-Sheikh Abdul-Haleem Murad the Head of Financial and Economic Affairs Committee, emphasized that agreement could integrate and continue to support the prevalent WTO order should the interests of all parties and countries be observed in it without bias towards one side or excluding another, especially related to the principle of justice, transparency, respecting of national sovereignty of countries and non-interference in their internal affairs. Murad opined that such agreements could integrate and thrive by striking a balance between the interest of all parties and transparency, stability of economic and trade transactions and alleviating restrictions off developing countries. Delegation member and Shura Council member Ahmed Ibrahim Behzad said: Bahrain emphasizes the right of all countries to joint this major world organization, urging for removal of all difficulties which may stand in the way of Arab countries interested in joining the WTO. He also said that GCC countries support less developed countries in their demand regarding Trade-related Intellectual Property Rights (aka TRIPS) agreement extending the period for enforcement and implementation of the agreement until 2021.
