API director Bader Al-Malallah
Amman - KUNA

he Arab Planning Institute (API) is contemplating an investment plan whereby investment opportunities will be made available in Jordan to help push forward sustainable development in that country, said API director Bader Al-Malallah in statements to KUNA on Wednesday.
The first stage of the investment plan has already been completed by API and covers creating investment opportunities in the northern part of Jordan, he said. A second stage will be completed in a matter of three months to cover the southern regions of the country, he added while emphasizing the close partnership between API and Jordan.
The study plan, he said, seeks to bring about an investment environment whereby both private and public sectors can cooperate on creating much-needed jobs.
Earlier and in a joint press conference with Malallah, director of the Jordanian Investment Authority Khalid Abu Rabie had praised API's investment plan for his country, noting that Kuwait has been a source of invaluable assistance to Jordan, in particular recently as the influx of Syrian refugees to Jordan has encumbered its economy and stretched thin its resources.
API is an institute that has been set up as a result of a Kuwaiti initiative to offer specialized studies to Arab countries seeking to enhance their sustainable development plans and policies. API is headquartered in Kuwait.
