Arab League meeting urges boosting economic, trade ties with Turkey

The second meeting held on Wednesday between senior officials and experts from the Arab League (AL) and Turkey recommended activating the existing economic and trade cooperation mechanisms between Arab countries and Turkey.
The conferees decided to hold their third meeting in Kuwait on the sidelines of the Arab meeting of ministers of economy, trade and investment.
The AL's officials asserted the importance of enhancing the investment climate between Arab countries and Turkey and boosting the industrial and agricultural investment opportunities between them through establishing joint projects.
They have also touched on ways to resolve disputes and facilitate cross-border trade by developing programs aimed at removing obstacles before investors and reducing the cost of the financial transactions.
Also, the meeting discussed ways of boosting the bilateral ties in the fields of trade ,industry, banking services, tourism, energy, water, environment and sustainable development, food security and scientific and technical cooperation.
They welcomed the idea of establishing Arab-Turkey business council and signing a memorandum of understanding between the two sides during the next session of the forum to be held in an Arab country in the next year.
