
The 94th regular session of the Economic Committee, an off-shoot of the Arab League Economic and Social Council, kicked off here on Monday under the chairmanship of Yemen with the participation of senior Arab economic ministries' officials.
The two-day committee meetings will discuss preparations for a meeting of the AL Economic and Social Council, slated for Thursday, as well as a senior economic officials' meeting slated for Wednesday.
Assistant Arab League Secretary General for Economic Affairs Ambassador Mohammad Bin Ibrahim El-Twejeri said the economic committee meeting will discuss bolstering economic cooperation, a joint Arab free zone, as well as the developments regarding the establishing an Arab Customs Union as well as the need for interaction with international economic blocs.
