Muscat - Arab Today

An agreement to facilitate full time employment of Omanis was signed on Saturday.

The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Training Fund.

The MOU is to facilitate employment of trainees on full time basis following completion of their respective training programmes.

The National Training Fund would finance the programme following allocation of the trainees to the companies operating in the fields of manufacturing and trading at the industrial estates managed by the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates in the various governorates of the Sultanate.

The MoU was signed on behalf of the National Training Fund by Dr. Mohammed bin Hamad Al Rumhy, Minster of Oil and Gas, chairman of the National Training Fund. From PEIE side the MoU was signed by Hilal bin Hamad Al Hasani, CEO of PEIE.

According to the MoU, the PEIE would be responsible for communication with the companies taking lease of property at the industrial estates in terms of training needs and requirements.

The PEIE would coordinate in terms of registration of trainees with the Public Authority for Social Insurance (PASI) after signing the agreement with the related parties.

The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates would also encourage the companies taking lease at the industrial estates to pay the contributions to PASI in relation to the trainees.

The PEIE would also follow with the companies for immediate employment of trainees on successful completion of their training programme
