A number of businessmen from Jordan, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia took part at the Agadir Agreement 's partnership meeting recently held in Tunisia to discuss the challenges they face in implementing the agreement, according to a statement by the Agadir Technical Unit (ATU)on Wednesday.

During the meeting, which was organized by the ATU in cooperation with the Tunisian Export Advancement Center, Executive President of the Unit El Aid Mahsoussi presented a briefing on the most important privileges of the Agadir Agreement, the statement said.

It also added that bilateral meetings were also held during the gathering between businessmen of the Agadir countries to discuss the possibilities of industrial integration and cooperation in the textile, clothing, food and pharmaceutical sectors.

The Agadir Agreement was signed on 25 February, 2004 by Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia with the objective of creating of a Free Trade Area between the four countries and the European Union, developing economic activity; supporting employment; increasing productivity; and improving living standards within the member countries.
