Manama - BNA

A book authored by former Ambassador Taqi Al-Baharna was launched this evening at the Bahrain National Museum. Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa patronised the launch ceremony in the presence of Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, invitees and members of the diplomatic corps.
Titled "Ambassador's Diaries Bahrain and the Arabian Gulf in the Independence Era", the book documents the author's diplomatic work from 1971 to 194 as ambassador to Egypt (United Arab Republic then) as well as Representative to the Arab League in Cairo. Addressing the launch ceremony, the Deputy Premier stressed the importance of the book which documents an important phase in the history of the nascent modern Bahrain which was establishing diplomatic relations.
He thanked Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa for inviting him to patronise the book launch, commending Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa for the good organisation.
The foreign minister and author both addressed the ceremony. The Deputy Premier and attendees then toured the Pearl Path Exhibition, being held by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities at the Bahrain National Museum.
