Tehran - IRNA

Substitute Friday prayers leader of Tehran, Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami, has called on the Majlis elections candidates not to use `Velayat-e Faqih' (Guardianship of Jurisprudence) as a tool in the upcoming elections, slated for next Friday. Delivering his Friday prayers sermon here at Tehran University campus, Ayatollah Khatami further advised the candidates to focus on their qualifications in their elections campaign platforms. He also called on Iranian people at large to take part en masse in the ninth Majlis elections. The Ayatollah said that based on the opinion poll results, public turn out in the elections would be in the high level.
