The Lenin museum in Tampere
Helsinki - Arab Today

The Lenin museum in Tampere, central southern Finland, was opened over the weekend after two years of renovations.

The exhibits of the museum have been widened and the museum now focuses on the Finnish-Russian relations besides the history of Vladimir Lenin and Joseph Stalin in Finland.

Museum Director Kalle Kallio told Xinhua that the largest segment of foreign visitors are from Russia.

Kallio said visitors from China were among the "top five" nationalities in recent years before the two-year renovation. Kallio also said that the museum in Tampere has been included in an itinerary that travel organizers have designed for Chinese visitors who want to trace down the life and times of Lenin.

The museum was set up in January 1946. Since 2004, it is part of the Tampere Workers Museum Werstas.
