Muscat - Arab today

Muscat Municipality will be setting limits on personal vehicles at the Central Mawaleh Market due to the great demand expected for Eid Al Fitr.

Hundreds of people are expected to visit the market during the coming days to buy various vegetables and fruits, and there may not be enough parking for the visitors.

In order to avoid congestion, the management of the Central Mawaleh Market will only allow heavy trucks and vehicles to enter into the market from 4:30am until 10am.

Owners of light vehicles wishing to take advantage of market services during that time can use external parking, or enter their vehicles into the market after 10 am.

According to the statement released by Muscat Municipality, this is a matter of public safety.

“We look forward to the cooperation from the public, especially when it is in the public’s interest and safety,” the statement read.

The restraints will begin on Tuesday the June 20 and end on June 25, 2017.
