Situation in Ankara, Turkey, after the bombing, last Sunday
Jakarta - Arab Today

The Indonesian government has denounced the bomb attacks on Sunday in Kizilay, down town of central Ankara, Turkey, which claimed at least 34 lives and wounded 125 others.

"The government and Indonesian people express their sympathies and deep condolences to the government and Turkish people, especially to the victims and their families," Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia noted in a written statement received by Antara on Monday.

At the time of release of the statement, the Indonesian Embassy in Ankara had not yet received any information regarding Indonesian residents affected by the bombing.

However, the embassy continues to coordinate with the local authorities to obtain further information related to the victims.

Currently, 1,553 Indonesians are living in Turkey, mostly professional workers and students.

The KBRI in Ankara has appealed to Indonesians living there to remain calm, raise awareness regarding the current situation, and avoid crowded places where they can become likely targets of attacks.

The embassy has also provided hotline numbers for Indonesians seeking further information following the attacks on +905321352298 and +905338120760.
