The Amur River near the city of Khabarovsk, in Russia’s flood-stricken Far East, has been up twelve centimetres over the past twenty four hours to a new record high of 782 centimetres, the press-service of the Khabarovsk Territory’s office of the Emergencies Ministry said. Every day the level of the Amur beats all previous records registered over the 120 years of observations. On Friday, 1,684 homes in 42 villages and communities with a total of population of 5,050 were flooded. In the Khabarovsk Territory alone 2,800 people, including 671 children have been taken to safety.
