4 earthquakes shake Oklahoma

At least four earthquakes ranging in magnitude from 2.8 to 4.3 shook portions of Oklahoma Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. Austin Holland, a geophysicist at the Oklahoma Geological Survey in Norman is still gathering data about the quakes and said there may have been more than four. "At this point it looks like a main shock, aftershock sequence. There are even a bunch of smaller ones," he said. The U.S. Geological Survey said: -- At 1:45 a.m., a 3-magnitude earthquake was recorded 3 miles west-southwest of Chandler. -- At 1:56 a.m., a 4.3-magnitude earthquake was felt about 7 miles east-northeast of Luther and 22 miles east of Edmond. -- At 2:15 a.m. local time, a 2.8 magnitude earthquake was felt 8 miles north, northwest of Boley and about 54 miles east of Oklahoma City. -- At 2:16 a.m., a 3.3-magnitude earthquake was felt 4 miles east of Luther and 19 miles east of Edmond. There were no immediate reports of damage, The Oklahoman reported. Holland said the strongest earthquake felt in Oklahoma was in November 2011 near Prague.
