A woman has died and 388 others have been wounded due to an earthquake measuring 5.6 on Richter scale that hit the State of Algiers on Friday, the Algerian news agency reported, citing medical resources.
An emergency committee has been formed at the Ministry of Interior and Local Authorities to follow up developments in the Algerian capital.
The committee is chaired by Minister of Interior and Local Authorities Minister Tayeb Belaiz.
