Algerian troops kill 1 militant in eastern Jijel

Algerian army on Friday killed one militant in Jijel province, 420 km eastern Algiers, APS news agency reported citing a defense ministry statement.
The report said the militant was killed during a sweep operation conducted by a detachment of the National People's Army in the locality of Tiferassen in Jijel, specifying that the anti-terrorism operation is still underway.
Despite the recent significant improvement in the security situation, ambushes and clashes between army troops and terrorist groups are still reported in the North African nation.
