Truck laden with explosives seized by army in North Sinai

Third Field Army forces seized a truck laden with large amount of explosives in Qassimah area in North Sinai, Army spokesman Mohamed Samir said Monday.
As part of army efforts to uproot terrorism and extremism and abort all smuggling operations, army forces suspected a truck laden with construction materials at a checkpoint in Qassimah area, the spokesman said.
The forces searched the truck to find 100 cylinders used in manufacturing explosive devices, 119 barrels full of Sulfuric acid, 22 barrels containing highly explosive materials and 22 paint thinner containers.
Two of the truck occupants were arrested, he added.
