Explosive charge deactivated in Arish

Bomb squad defused a homemade explosive device which was planted on a road in Arish on Tuesday, according to security sources. A barrel packed with 250 kg of TNT and connected with electric wires and detonator was found on the Ring Road in North Sinai city of Arish, the sources said. The charge was intended to blow up police and army armored vehicles. The charge is considered the biggest one since the beginning of security crackdown that has been launched by the Armed Forces and the police to eradicate terrorist hotbeds in Sinai, added the sources
