Alexandria - Arab Today

The administrative court in Alexandria has set restrictions to parole, totally prohibiting it in terrorism cases.

The court upheld a decision by the Interior Minister, Magdy Abdel Ghaffar, denying parole to two defendants of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group, who had taken part in violence acts against state institutions, which posed a threat to public security.

The prisons law sets terms for parole, the court said, noting that convicts should have spent three quarters of their sentences to be eligible for parole.
