Egyptian Ministry of Interior announced on Sunday that a recruit was killed and three policemen were wounded when unidentified gunmen opened fire at a security patrol stationed in the city of Banha in Qalyubia Governorate.
The ministry said in a statement that unknown assailants opened fire from the top of a bridge leaving the police car damaged and killing a recruit after being shot in the head. Three others were also wounded.
The statement added that the killed soldier and the injured policemen were rushed to Banha University Hospital and security has been intensified in that area.
