Blast injures one in Egypt's Cairo

A man was injured when an improvised bomb went off in eastern Cairo of Egypt on Saturday, state-run Ahram website reported. A worker was wounded in the blast which took place near the Women's College in Heliopolis district, security officials were quoted as saying, adding that another two explosive devices nearby were defused. Terrorist attacks and violence, mainly against security forces and facilities, have escalated in Egypt since the military ousted Islamist president Mohamed Morsi last July, killing dozens of soldiers and policemen. The Sinai-based group Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, which is closely related to Al-Qaida, had claimed responsibility for most of these attacks. In February, four people including three South Koreans, were killed in a bus bombing near the Taba border crossing in South Sinai, raising concerns about the country's long-term security situation.
