London - Arabstoday

Inter Milan captain Javier Zanetti has apologised to the club's fans after "their worst performance of the season" against Roma. I Nerazzurri were thrashed 4-0 yesterday in their second defeat in three games. "I think this was our worst performance of the season," Zanetti told the club's website. "Roma played very well and deserved their victory, but we never stepped onto the field. There was a total blackout and we simply were not there." The result left Inter in fifth place, five points behind Udinese who are third and hold the last Champions League qualifying spot. Zanetti believes Sunday's defeat will be a good lesson for Inter. "We must try to remain concentrated, because we cannot repeat a performance like this ever again," he said. "We will talk on Tuesday and try to see where we went wrong and learn from those mistakes." Inter, coached by Claudio Ranieri, host bottom side Novara on Sunday.
