Washington - UPI

The United States remains atop the women's world soccer rankings, but Germany is getting closer. The latest FIFA rankings, released Friday in Zurich, Switzerland, showed minimal changes in the Top 10. Germany, in the No. 2 position, closed its gap behind the US team by winning the Algarve Cup in Portugal. Japan is No. 3, Brazil 4, Sweden 5, France 6, Canada 7, North Korea 8, England 9 and Australia 10. North Korea and England swapped places in the rankings. The next edition of the rankings will be released June 1, FIFA said.
