Cairo - Arabstoday
Moroccan striker Omar Najdi announced on Friday that he will terminate his contract with Egyptian Premier League outfit Maqassa due to what he believes is lack of security in Egypt after the January 25th revolution that ousted president Hosni Mubarak from his post. “I will discuss the Moroccan teams’ offers as I need to change the Egyptian atmosphere” read a statement for Najdi on Moroccan website Elbotola. Najdi joined Maqassa last January in a two-and-a-half year contract for almost US$ 2 million coming from Moroccan side Raja Athletic. The Moroccan website Elbotola revealed that Najdi is close to wearing his former club’s jersey next season as he is currently in talks with the team’s officials. Egyptian League outfit Maqassa managed to snatch the player’s signature after competing with major teams such as Ahly and Zamalek who were also eager to sign Najdi.
