Edmonton - AFP

Japan's Takuma Sato captured his second pole of the IndyCar season, edging out Aussie Will Power who will line up beside him in 90-lap Edmonton Indy race. The 34-year-old Sato, who races for KV Racing Technology, on Saturday drove the 2.2-mile, 13-turn City Centre Airport track in one minute, 18.516 seconds. Sato finished five-hundredths of a second ahead of Team Penske's Power, who had started from the pole in three of the four previous years here. Toronto's James Hinchcliffe had the 10th best time and is the top Canadian in the field. Scotland's Dario Franchitti leads the season driver's standings entering the 11th of 18 season races with 353 points, 55 more than Power. Scott Dixon of New Zealand is third in the points chase with 270 points, 38 ahead of Spain's Oriol Servia.
