urges Palestinians, Israelis to work on achieving peace

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said Tuesday that there is a real chance to establish peace between the Palestinian and Israeli sides.

During the inauguration of power projects in Assiut, the president said Egypt is ready to play a role between the Palestinians and Israel in this respect.

The president pointed out that he met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas recently and discussed with him efforts to revive peace talks to bring hope and end the frustration of the Palestinian side.

The president said he raised the Palestinian issue during his meetings with European and Arab officials and even with the leaders of the Jewish communities to highlight the importance of peace and tell them that peace between Egypt and Israel paved the way for peace and stability between the two sides.

President Sisi pointed out to the French and Arab initiatives and efforts by the quartet and United States to find a solution to the Palestinian problem, calling on all parties concerned to seize the current opportunity to achieve peace.
