The leading member of the Society for Peace movement, the largest brotherhood party in Algeria, Abdel Rahman Saidi, announced that his movement is waiting for many major political stakes during the next stage which would be a surprise.

He added, in interview with Arabs Today, that it will not be easy for Society for Peace to emerge safely during the transitional period, although the movement's president, Abd al-Razzaq al-Muqri, has drafted the movement's basic law on his own way.

He noted that al-Muqri tightened his grip on the transitional period, which will be led by former Minister of

Industry Abdul Majeed Manassrah after the unity conference between Change Front and his movement that took place last Saturday.

Saidi revealed, in interview with Arabs Today, reasons for his absence in the unity conference, saying that his absence was not due to delay or illness, but he decided to boycott this event. He said that this conference approved documents of the next phase and did not respect the contrary views. "Many important documents were ratified in no more than four hours," he said.

He also added that the unity path should not be addressed by the process of legalization of political issues, indicating that the leaders of the two political blocs should agree on a clear political course.

He explained that the unity of "Hams" with Change Front was supposed to be within the course of clear political positions, where the two political groups have many different political issues. He pointed to the position of Change Front from the opposition, as well as the issue of national reconciliation and the question of participation in the government or not.

Saidi expressed his reservations about the amendments to the basic law of Movement of Society for Peace, pointing out that Abdul Razzaq Makri has drafted a law for himself so that the current president, Manassrah, finds himself bound and can not take any decision without returning to him.

Abdel Rahman Saidi was not the only one who announced his boycott of the unity conference, and even close associates of Abd al-Razzaq al-Muqri announced that they boycotted the work of the conference and their opposition to the unity process.

Most prominent were No'man La'our, Zein al-Din Tabal and former leader of the movement, Abu Jarrah al-Sultani, who was absent from the opening session but participated in the closing session, which saw the recommendation of Abdul Majeed Manassrah as the party leader. He attributed the reasons for his participation to his support for Manassrah
