Raad Al Dahalki
Baghdad - Najlaa Al Taee

Head of Iraqi Immigration Committee Raad Al Dahalki called the government to raise the state of alert in the different governmental institutions to help the displaced citizens of Mousl, warning of a humanitarian disaster for the displaced people living in the right bank of the city.
He blamed the Iraqi central government for not releasing the money allocated for helping the displaced people, saying that the United Nations also ignored them despite the challenges facing them.
He added, in an interview with “Arabs Today”, that there are four thousand citizens have been displaced on daily basis from the Iraqi city’s right bank, saying that such a number of displaced people needs increasing efforts not only from the Iraqi government but also the international organizations.
He added, “When the military operations started to liberate the city’s left bank, the residents turned to transfer to the right bank. However, the current challenge facing the Iraqi troops is the large number of civilians existed in the right bank of Mousl. The families started to leave the areas of conflict, while the preparations for receiving those displaced people are not enough.
He underlined the importance of the parliamentary role to contain the crisis, saying that the committee follows the developments to refer the formal reports to the parliament, including the basic needs of the displaced people. He stressed the need for a serious role for the government and other international organizations to perform a role to help the displaced people.
He warned, “If the government has not responded to our demands, the Iraqis would face genocide. The government should take serious steps to contain the current crisis witnessed in the country.”
