Norway's Anders Jacobsen won the second round of the Four Hills at Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Germany on Thursday, edging out four-time Olympic champion Simon Ammann of Switzerland.
Jacobsen, 29, who had also won the year-opening World Cup event in 2013, finished on 286 points with Ammann on 279.4 and Slovenia's Peter Prevc in third place on 276.9.
Austria's Gregor Schlierenzauer, a two-time winner of the prestigious Four Hills and a three-time champion at Garmisch, finished just off the podium on 275.7 thanks to a huge final-round leap of 139.5m.
Austria's Stefan Kraft, who won the Four Hills opener at Oberstdorf, was sixth on Thursday on 270 points but still has the overall lead after two rounds on 561.9 points with Prevc on 560.8.
The Four Hills continues at Innsbruck in Austria on Sunday.
