Raonic topples Murray, reaches Indian Wells quarters

Big serving Canadian Milos Raonic powered past fifth-seeded Andy Murray 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 on Wednesday to reach the quarter-finals of the Indian Wells ATP Masters. Raonic, playing his first tournament since suffering a left ankle injury at the Australian Open, peppered Murray with 15 aces in the two-hour, nine minute encounter, and sealed it with a forehand winner as he served out the victory with a love game. Murray, a former world number two who claimed his second Grand Slam title at Wimbledon last year, has yet to reach a final since having back surgery in September. In the quarter-finals, Raonic will play Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov, a 6-2, 6-4 winner over Italian Fabio Fognini. Dolgopolov, 25 and ranked 31 in the world, posted the biggest win of his career on Monday when he beat world number one and defending champion Rafael Nadal in the third round. Source: AFP
