Pakistan were 146-3 at close on the third day of the third Test, leading England by 74 runs in Sharjah on Tuesday.

Opener Mohammad Hafeez was unbeaten on 97 and with him nightwatchman Rahat Ali was yet to get off the mark after England gained a 72-run lead by scoring 306 in their first innings.

Pakistan, leading the series 1-0, made 234 in their first innings.
