Wael al-Sayed Mohammed Gad, Ambassador of Egypt to the UAE, has praised the UAE’s official and general public response to the Egyptian national team’s qualifying win yesterday, being the second Arab nation securing its place at the 2018 World Cup.

"We enthusiastically followed the immediate reaction of the UAE leadership," Gad said, referring to the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who took to Twitter to congratulate Egypt on their 2018 World Cup qualification, saying, "Qualifying for the World Cup. A beautiful Arabian night. You brought happiness to our hearts from the Gulf to the Ocean. Egypt, you are always grand."

The ambassador also thanked His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, who also congratulated Egypt’s leadership and people on the World Cup qualifier win.

The Egyptian Ambassador affirmed that the sincere feeling of joy expressed by the UAE people is a reflection of the strong relations between the UAE and Egypt.
