Top-seeded Mardy Fish of the United States advanced to the quarterfinals of the Citi Open Thursday by knocking off wild card Ricardas Berankis in straight sets. Fish ousted his Lithuanian opponent 6-3, 6-1 and moved on to face Xavier Malisse in the quarters at the FitzGerald Tennis center hard court in Washington. Fish served 10 aces to his opponent's four and won 4-of-5 break points while Berankis was 0-for-2. The unseeded Malisse advanced with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over No. 6 seed Jeremy Chardy of France. Eighth-seeded Sam Querrey of the United States beat Benjamin Becker of Germany 6-4, 6-3 and third-seeded Kevin Anderson of South Africa posted a 6-4, 6-4 win over French qualifier Florent Serra.
