Abu Dhabi - Arabstoday
Luis Suarez confirmed he has no intention of leaving Liverpool despite a difficult season at Anfield, according to reports. Anfield officials are in negotiations with Suarez's representatives over an improved deal for the striker, who scored his 14th goal of the season for Liverpool in their 2-1 defeat of Everton in the FA Cup semi-final. Suarez had been linked with a move away from Anfield, with Paris St Germain reportedly interested, following the eight-match ban he received for racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra. The former Ajax captain attracted further condemnation when he refused to shake Evra's hand at Old Trafford in February, including from his own club. But in comments quoted by The Daily Telegraph, Suarez reaffirmed his long-term commitment to the Kop. Suarez said: "I will continue at Liverpool. It is obvious I will continue. "I have four years left on my contract and I am very happy and content to be here and I hope good things continue." Suarez also said he had moved on from the Evra incident. He added: "I am over that. Obviously the important thing was the support from all the people and there is no need to talk about that as it is already in the past." Meanwhile, chairman Tom Werner hinted he would be at Wembley for the final against Chelsea in May. Werner and principal owner John W Henry missed the semi-final as they were back in America attending the Boston Red Sox's first home game of the season, according to another report. Werner told www.nesn.com: "The team showed a lot of character, and we dominated the second half. "Suarez and Carroll's goals were both brilliant, and Wembley will be a lovely place to visit in May."
