London - Arabstoday
Lille kept their unbeaten Ligue 1 run going with an ultimately comfortable win over Dijon to move within two points of the summit. Moussa Sow and Eden Hazard scored the goals either side of half-time as Rudi Garcia's side maintained a proud record stretching back to August's home defeat to Montpellier. For Dijon, who had their chances in the first half, it was a first defeat in four games and they remain in the bottom half. They could easily have been ahead before Sow's opener, with Mickael Landreau saving Benjamin Corgnet's deflected drive and Brice Jovial's effort, the latter coming after the striker appeared to control the ball with his hand. Sow had a goal harshly chalked off for offside but netted again in the 16th minute, heading Mathieu Debuchy's fine cross past keeper Baptiste Reynet from six yards. Corgnet could not head Marko Basa's cross on target while Joe Cole went close for Lille after being teed up by Hazard. Dijon were desperately unlucky not to level before half-time when Corgnet crossed and Thomas Guerbert's diving header crashed back off the post. But Lille doubled their lead in the 58th minute when Hazard linked up with Cole and Sow before firing the ball inside Reynet's near post. And from that point the hosts were always in control and hit the woodwork twice. Sow was first to threaten, beating Abdoulaye Meite before his left-foot shot found its way behind for a corner via the post and then Reynet. The busy visiting keeper then saved after Cole met another Debuchy cross with a sidefoot shot. And the Englishman almost grabbed a deserved goal with ten minutes remaining, controlling Sow's cross on his chest and acrobatically volleying against the post.
