London - UPI

Natalia Ishchenko and Svetlana Romashina continued Russia's Olympic streak in synchronized swimming Tuesday with a win in the duet event. Russians have won the gold medal in both the duet and team competitions at each of the last three Olympics and will try to sweep the medals for a fourth time in Friday's team final. Ishchenko and Romashina scored 98.90 points in Tuesday's free routine for a overall total of 197.10 points. That was 4.2 points more than the score turned in by Spain's Ona Carbonell Ballestero and Andrea Fuentes Fache. China's Huang Xuechen and Liu Ou finished third, just 0.03 of a point behind the Spanish pair.
