Berlin - Arabstoday

The first round of the DFB-Pokal ended with a record triumph for lower league sides with no fewer than a third of the top flight falling at the first hurdle. Six of the Bundesliga's ranks will therefore be able to put their feet up this week and see how the remainder get on in the second round of the cup. One more top-flight side is guaranteed to fall by the wayside with Fortuna Dusseldorf and Borussia Monchengladbach staging the only all-Bundesliga affair. The draw is a reward for Dusseldorf, who were unable to count on a full house when they hosted Gladbach on the opening day of the league season. On Wednesday night, though, over 50,000 souls will pack into the Dusseldorf Arena hoping to see their side fare better than they did in a 0-0 draw in the Bundesliga. Giant-killers load slingshots Augsburg could be the first Bundesliga club to fall after becoming the first to reach the second round back in August. They travel to Preussen Munster, who accounted for Werder Bremen in the first round. Fellow giant-killers Berliner AK 07, who defeated Hoffenheim, and TSV Havelse, who saw off Nurnberg, are also in action tomorrow night against 1860 Munich and Bochum respectively. Erzgebirge Aue, Kickers Offenbach and Karlsruher, who also took Bundesliga scalps in the first round, face Mainz, Union Berlin and MSV Duisburg respectively with the draw proving to be pretty kind to the top sides. Borussia Dortmund head back to Baden-Wurttemberg, where they beat Freiburg in the snow on Saturday, to face VfR Aalen while Schalke will be confident of victory at home to SV Sandhausen. Stuttgart host St Pauli and Bayer Leverkusen head to Arminia Bielefeld while Wolfsburg have home advantage against second-division side FSV Frankfurt. There was no luck of the draw for Bayern Munich, though, as they were dealt a tricky tie with Kaiserslautern, but at least Jupp Heynckes' side can enjoy home advantage and, after seeing their eight-game winning streak in the Bundesliga ended yesterday, complacency should not be an issue. "We will see the good Bayern Munich again in that game," promised Heynckes. "It is good that we have a home game and that we can set the record straight again," added goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who doubled the number of goals he conceded all season yesterday. FIFA
