London - Arabstoday

Germany coach Joachim Low insists he was able to take plenty of positives from last night's 3-3 draw with the Ukraine in Kiev. Low experimented with a three-man defence and saw his side concede three goals inside the first half to trail 3-1 at the break, before strikes from Simon Rolfes and Thomas Muller in the second period salvaged a draw for the Germans. Low conceded that the performance might not have impressed everyone but he nevertheless took encouragement from his team's showing. "I was very happy, even if I am probably one of the very few to be so," he said. "There are a lot of positives that I can take. The team showed great morale and I am not dissatisfied. Of course we can do certain things better, but we wanted to take a look at a few things today." The defensive experiment was also useful, according to Low, who refused to blame his back three for the goals conceded. "Two of the goals we conceded came from our own corners when all of our defenders were in the opposition penalty area," he said. "Those goals had nothing to do with our system. I tried the three-man defence to test an emergency situation before we actually reach an emergency situation, but we won't play the same tactics against Holland." Dutch up next Germany's final match of 2011 sees them take on the Dutch in Hamburg on Tuesday. "We want to end the year on a high against Holland," added Low on ARD television. Low will have Marco Reus and Miroslav Klose available for that game after both missed the trip to Ukraine with injuries, while Manuel Neuer will return in goal after being given a break to allow Ron-Robert Zieler to make his international debut last night. "You definitely imagine a different debut to this and it is a shame that the first half went the way it did," said Zieler, who made several fine saves in the second half to prevent Ukraine from adding to the three goals which he could do little about in the first 45 minutes. "But at least we reacted well after the interval."
