Landreau parts company with Lille

Former France international goalkeeper Mickael Landreau has "amicably" broken his contract with Ligue 1 side Lille, the French club confirmed on Friday. "Lille and Mickael Landreau have decided by mutual agreement to end their collaboration ... (and) today penned an amicable break with immediate effect to the contract which bound them," the club said in a statement.. The request follows several months of tension between Landreau and top club officials including coach Rudi Garcia, who were unhappy with the player's outspoken behaviour in the dressing room and to the press. Landreau joined Lille in 2009 after ten years with rivals Nantes (1996-2006) and three seasons with Paris SG (2006-09), winning the league and Cup double in 2011 with the northern side. He played 550 Ligue 1 matches and was capped 11 times for France with manager Didier Deschamps rekindling his national career by naming him third choice keeper after being appointed following UEFA EURO 2012.
