Internacional and Atletico-GO draw 0-0

At home after returning from Germany and the Audi Cup, Internacional played out to a scoreless draw against Atletico-GO on Sunday in the 13th round of the 2011 Brazilian Championship. At the Audi Cup, Internacional placed third in the four-team tournament, beating AC Milan in the bronze medal match. Sunday's match was plagued by offensive mistakes by both teams. Despite dominating the time of ball possession, Internacional could not find the rhythm to score. To Atletico-GO's credit, keeper Marcio played a great game, defending multiple shots that could easily have entered the goal. The result helps Internacional improve to seventh place with 19 points. In the next round of play, Internacional will travel to face Fluminense on August 4. Atletico-GO also improves, landing in 14th place with 13 points. In the 14th round of play the team will receive Atletico-PR on August 4.
