London - Arabstoday
The International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS), the not-for-profit sport security organization focused lights on a number of important issues related to Sports Integrity. At Bayt Qatar, a home to Qatar Olympic Committee in London Olympics 2012, Mohammed Hanzab, ICSS President, Lord John Stevens – Chairman of the ICSS Advisory Board and Chris Eaton, Director of Sport Integrity at the ICSS discussed the international challenges that face sports officials in their quest to fight corruption. Mohammed Hanzab, ICSS President said that violation of the sports Integrity shall affect the popularity of sport and the sustainability of its financial support.  “We have no evidence whatsoever in relation to corruption of the Olympic Games,” said John Stevens, a former London police chief who is chairman of the ICSS advisory board.  “Match fixing has been going on for many years, it’s true,  but, as of now, in my estimation it’s almost out of control  internationally,” said Chris Eaton, an Australian former policeman who is Director of Sport Integrity at the ICSS.   International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS) is an international, not-for-profit organization based in Doha, Qatar. It was established in 2011 to act as a global hub of expertise in the field of safety and security for major sporting events. The ICSS’s key activities include advisory, training, research and sport integrity. Earlier, The ICSS  has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee to collaborate on safety and security planning, capabilities and infrastructure for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
