Berlin - Arabstoday

Rene Adler has earned a recall to the Germany squad for the friendly against the Nethlerands next Wednesday. Almost two years to the day since his last international appearance, the Hamburg goalkeeper is in the frame for his 11th cap after some impressive performances in the Bundesliga recently. There is also a new face in Joachim Low's 22-man squad, with Schalke midfielder Roman Neustadter receiving his first call-up. "I am delighted that Rene has been able to get back to his best again after his long injury," said Low. "He should now get the chance to prove himself on the international stage again. This is a decision pro-Rene Adler and not against Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Ron-Robert Zieler, who obviously remain on our radar." Hannover goalkeeper Zieler would have been suspended anyway, while ter Stegen has been left out with Adler and Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer the two goalkeepers in Low's squad. Newcomer Neustadter has scored twice recently for Schalke and appears to be settling in well in Gelsenkirchen following a move from Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer. "It is impressive how well Roman has been playing lately for Schalke and how he has made the breakthrough," said Low. "He has very good technical ability and, given his performances in the Bundesliga and the Champions League, he has absolutely deserved this call-up." The game against the Netherlands in Amsterdam is Germany's last appointment of a calendar year which Low looks back on positively. "We have managed to bring some new, young players into the team and we will remain faithful to our general philosophy and attacking mindset," he said. "We must not ignore the fact that we still have to improve in certain areas and find the right balance at times." Germany squad: Goalkeepers: Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich), Rene Adler (Hamburg) Defenders: Jerome Boateng, Philipp Lahm (both Bayern Munich), Mats Hummels, Marcel Schmelzer (both Borussia Dortmund), Benedikt Howedes (Schalke), Per Mertesacker (Arsenal), Heiko Westermann (Hamburg) Midfileders: Toni Kroos, Thomas Muller, Bastian Schweinsteiger (all Bayern Munich), Mario Gotze, Ilkay Gundogan, Marco Reus (all Borussia Dortmund), Mesut Ozil (Real Madrid), Roman Neustadter (Schalke), Andre Schurrle (Bayer Leverkusen) Forwards: Miroslav Klose (Lazio), Lukas Podolski (Arsenal).
