Khalil Al Gheriany
Tunis - Hayat Al Ghanemi

Member of Tunisian Norms Organization’s executive office Khalil Al Gheriany revealed that he will not take the position of Public Service minister due to the lack of consensus around his choice for the position during the recent ministerial reshuffle conducted during the last week.

The Tunisian politician added, in a statement to “Arabs Today”, that he apologized for not taking the position due to the state of controversy over his choice by Prime Minister Yussef Al Shahed.

Tunisian General Labor Union expressed its reservation over the choice of Gheriany to take the position, describing his choice as a clear violation to Carthage Document which conditions consensus among the different Tunisian parties in case of conducting a ministerial reshuffle.

It stressed that the new Minister of Public Service Khalil Al Gheriani does not believe in the importance of public sector, saying that the new minister came to the government to achieve the plan aiming to dissolve the public sector.

It added that it is not the first time for the Tunisian prime minister to violate Carthage Document, saying that he violated it before when he issued Finance Law months ago.
