DHL boasts business in over 220 countries
Cairo - Mohammed Salah

DHL boasts business in over 220 countries Cairo - Mohammed Salah DHL Express’ Middle Eastern CEO Nour Suliman has revealed his company’s intentions to establish Egypt as the centre of a new shipping hub in North Africa. Suliman, speaking in an exclusive interview with Arabstoday, said he hoped investment and hard would could make for a better future in Egypt. “Shipping is among the most important economic indicators,” he said, “if not the most important.” “All economic production requires shipping. Banks and other financial establishments exchange documents and paperwork every day through shipping,” he claimed. DHL Express, part of mother-company Deutsche Post DHL, is reportedly planning a new transport hub in Egypt to expand on its 2011 net profits of around EGP450bn. "DHL relies on a massive fleet and aeroplanes to maintain its position in this sector,” Suliman said. “Over 250 cargo planes zip between some 500 airports serviced by more than 32,000 trucks in the countries in which DHL operates.” DHL currently boasts commerce in over 220 countries, more than have member states at the United Nations. Suliman remains hopeful for Egypt’s future. “The Egyptian market has great opportunities,” he said. “By shaking off the past and working hard, Egypt could become a global economic and industrial powerhouse linking East and West, as well as bringing European and US markets to the Middle East and Africa.” “But this can only come about through sustained, hard work,” he warned.
