Ramallah – Nihad Al Taweel

300 olive trees destroyed in fire Ramallah – Nihad Al Taweel A vicious fire broke out in the Palestinian settlement of Gela Zohar, destroying more than 300 olive trees in the region. Citizens used mosque loudspeakers to inform residents to help extinguish the fire promptly. According to eyewitnesses, Israeli settler guards attacked fire fighters and citizens who tried to extinguish the fire. Ghassan Douglas, a fire official in northern West Bank said a number of "extremists" purposely set fire in the eastern village, after which clashes broke out between them and citizens trying to stop the fire.
