Education ministries have made up for lost time Gaza - Arabstoday The Ministry of Education of the Hamas-run government in Gaza announced Thursday that the school year would end on June 3, Maan news agency has reported. Minister of education Osama al-Muzayni said in a statement that the summer holiday would start on June 4. The decision to extend the school year by three days gives schools enough time to correct final tests and distribute transcripts. Similarly, the ministry of education in the West Bank decided to extend the school year until June 13 to make up for the strike days teachers staged protesting salary delays.
