Exhibition returns to Dubai

Art show features work by local artists Dubai - Arabstoday Now in its fourth year, MinD (Made in Dubai) is an annual alternative art platform, launched in March 2010, which features work by local artists using contemporary media and conceptual approaches to art making. The exhibition returns with MinD – Body, curated by Dubai-based Italian artist, curator and writer Cristiana de Marchi. Body Art without body might be a pure paradox, but it is worth a thought in a region where the depiction of the body is culturally banished. The exhibition will explore the role of the body and self-censorship in contemporary art from the Gulf to investigate the creative and exhibition freedom of the artist. MinD – Body will see experimental artworks in a range of media - including video, installation, painting, graphic art, sculpture, photography and performance art - showcased throughout the DUCTAC complex at Gallery of Light from March 6 - April 10.
