Egypt's Abnoudi has leprosy

Abdel-Rahman Abnoudi Cairo – Shaymaa mekawi The Egyptian TV presenter Nehal Kamal has revealed to Arabstoday that her husband, the acclaimed poet Abdel-Rahman Abnoudi is going through the "strongest ordeal of his life" after being infected with leprosy (a serious skin disease that leads to bone deterioration). Treatment requires bed-rest and isolation so that it does not infect his family. Kamal said: "I do not want to talk a lot but my daughters and I are close to a psychological breakdown. " Abnoudi two years ago had a malignant tumor in his ear and was treated abroad,  after which he resumed writing poetry and scripts. His last poem was "Al-Midan" (The Square) and the last script he wrote was for the series "Wadi El-Molouk" (Valley of the Kings).
