The UAE has condemned the terrorist attack in which militants last night killed and wounded scores of civilians, including women and children, in a busy restaurant in the Somali capital, Mogadishu.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the UAE's solidarity with Somalia based on its firm and unwavering stance against all forms and manifestations of terrorism regardless of its motives, justifications and perpetrators.

The UAE called for concerted efforts from the international community to ensure that the scourge of terrorism is uprooted and find fundamental solutions to eliminate this phenomenon which is against all ethical and human values.

The Ministry concluded its statement by expressing sincere condolences with the Government of Somalia and families of the victims. It wished speedy recovery for the wounded
