Iraqi Parliament Salim al Jabouri
Baghdad - Arab Today

Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament Salim al Jabouri condemned on Tuesday the abduction of an Iraqi female journalist, describing the incident as a vile action that attempts to restrict the freedom of journalists.

Jabouri asked governmental authorities concerned to do their utmost to rescue journalist Afrah Shawqi, who was kidnapped on Monday from her home in a southern neighborhood of Baghdad after criticizing armed groups.

He further ordered tracking down the perpetrators and bringing them to justice.

Meanwhile, the speaker discussed with leader of Iraqi Justice and Reform Movement Abdullah Hamid Ujayel al Yawer the ongoing Iraqi military operations against Daesh terrorists in Nineveh, northern Iraq.
