Secretary-General of the Arab Muslim Council Mohammed Ali Al-Husseini
Riyadh - Arab Today

Secretary-General of the Arab Muslim Council Mohammed Ali Al-Husseini has expressed dismay over the Iranian religious leadership.
“The Kingdom’s severance of diplomatic relations with Iran is proper and reflects a correct attitude,” an Arabic daily report quoted Al-Husseini as saying.
The Kingdom severed diplomatic ties with Iran on Sunday in the wake of attacks on Saudi missions in Tehran and Mashhad.
Al-Husseini said that the Walayat-Al-Faqih religious system could not comply with international commitments and ensure the security and protection of embassies in Iran.
The Walayat-Al-Faqih refers to the religious leader in a Shiite-ruled country like Iran. It supports religious groups in other countries such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthis in Yemen.
Al-Husseini added that the religious system is a source of problems and causes crises for countries in the region like Syria, Yemen, Iraq and Lebanon.
“As Muslims, we are united and declare our solidarity. We support Saudi Arabia in severing ties with Iran,” he said.
Al-Husseini added: “We consider ourselves in the same position as the Kingdom and strongly condemn the Iranian position on Saudi Arabia which represents exclusively the Walayat-al-Faqih regime and not the people of Iran and the Shiites.”
He added that the “export of revolution was adopted by the Walayat-al- Faqih as one of the pillars of Iran’s foundation, resulting in the occupation of four Arab capitals.”
“Iran did not stop the spread of subversive thoughts charged with hatred for countries in the region. It also sent weapons and explosives to Walayat-al-Faqih adherents in Kuwait, Bahrain, Yemen, Iraq and Syria,” he said.
He added that the system works to target the center of Islam and Arabism by causing unrest and strife through exploitation of the annual pilgrimage.
